Hello dear readers, I hope you had a glorious week. I appreciate God for your life and that of your family. Welcome to today’s post and I pray that God will bless you for sacrificing time to know him more.

The Holy Spirit has been teaching me for a while about different areas of influence that he expects Christians to show forth his light even when they find themselves in an unfavorable environment that limits the flow of God. He referred me to biblical examples of Jesus, Joseph, Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach, Abednego, Esther, and several others. He went on further to tell me how God depends on all of us to be faithful children. Before we dive deeper into the message of today, I want us to understand some truths about our salvation in Christ.

Salvation Truths

1. You are a child of Light:

1 Peter 2 v 9: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light(KJV). The moment you give your life to Christ, you become a new creature and Christ lives in you (2 Corinthians 5:17). You become joint-heirs with Christ and as you grow in him, he unveils your purpose and destiny to glorify his name.

2. You are special, selected, handpicked, and set apart:

John 15:16: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit — fruit that will last — and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you(NIV). As a child of God, we need to understand that God choose us out his loving kindness and that is why he sent his son Jesus to die for us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). To truly understand the magnitude of being selected by God, let us consider the scenario of going to a supermarket or mall to purchase things, you select what appeals to you and pay for it. The reason why you paid whatever amount for the selected item is because you trust in the value of the item. You believe that it will serve the purpose for which you bought it, that is why after selecting, you paid a price. This is also similar to the reason why God selected us and paid a price using the blood of Jesus, this underlying reason is to add value to him and his kingdom. This leads me to the next section of this post.

The big question in the hearts of many is HOW DO WE ADD VALUE TO GOD?

The Holy Spirit said, after God rescued us from darkness, he placed us in this world and warned us not to be of this world (1 John 2 v 15). In Colossians 3 v 23- Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people(NLT). Pay close attention, this means that the reason why God placed you and I in the world is to use our God-given skills, talents, career, job opportunity, the field of study, race, nationality for his glory, working unto the Lord and not men. On the contrary, the people of this world use these things for a selfish purpose, evil deeds, and corrupt practices which do not glorify God. That is why the Bible reminds us that we are chosen to bear fruit, to show forth his light. God wants us to understand that we have a role to play in his mandate on earth, of which we are not expected to fail. We see biblical examples of Jesus, Joseph, Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach, Abednego, Esther, and several others who when faced with challenging circumstances remained faithful to God.

Dear friends, we are given a calling and charge to keep, and we have to remain faithful in our walk with God. One good news is that God sent us the Holy Spirit to help us and his word to guide us alright, spend more time building your relationship with God. Never forget this, use your interest, skills, talents, job to glorify God. Work faithfully and diligently as unto the Lord, always remembering that God invested and choose you.

God bless you and keep you and your family. I pray that the hand of the Lord will be upon you, may you excel in all you do, may he deliver, protect, and provide for you, and all those connected to you in Jesus name.

Thank you for reading.

Have a blessed week.

I love you but God loves you best.
