Today the Holy Spirit wants to teach us specifically about the impact of having Faith in the midst of faithless people. We will be reading the story of Jesus and his disciples when faced with the storm. Before we continue, let’s read our main scripture in 2 Corinthians 4 v 8 -11, 16–18: 8 We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; 9 hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed; 10 always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown in our body (Amplified Version). The world today is experiencing a lot of issues that makes people lose their faith and relationship with God because things are not going well in their family, business, academics e.t.c . The Holy Spirit wants us to trust God and intercede for others even when surrounded by people who may have given up on their faith or confessions to God.

In Mark 4 v 35–40: As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” 36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. 38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”(NLT). The disciples had been with Jesus for a while and one would have expected them to have faith since Jesus was with them. This explains to us that serving God for a long time does not automatically eliminate doubt or guarantee an everlasting faith in God. When the disciples cried out to Jesus, he rebuked the wind and asked them do you still have no faith? Jesus believed that they would not perish even though the disciples thought otherwise.

There are times you and I will find ourselves in the midst of people who don’t have faith. But, I pray that God will use our faith to perform miracles and strengthen those who have lost their faith. I believe that the disciples had more faith in Jesus after Jesus rebuked the storm. They said in v41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”.

Dear friends, we have been called to be a light unto our generation. Now more than ever we have to show forth this light in our character, belief, and service to God. It is easy for people to get discouraged but don’t be part of those who have lost their faith. Strengthen the faith of another person, intercede for others, and pray that God will perform a miracle that will strengthen their faith. Don’t criticize people, most especially Christians, when it appears that they are losing their faith. Instead, pray for them and remind them of the miracles God has done before. Be the light to your family, friends, generation, have faith, and declare the words of God.

God bless you so much for reading and I pray that God will use us mightily to strengthen our brethren in the Lord. May we not lose faith in the time of trouble. AMEN.

Have a blessed week and keep praying. Please share with your friends, status e.t.c. See you next week by God’s grace!

Remember God loves you best.
