Welcome, dear friends!! I hope you are doing great. It is a new week and a new month; A very happy new week to you. Let’s start. Dear Lord, we thank you for another time with you. May you speak to us through the words from this post and inscribe your words on our hearts so that we will always remember and put them to practice. AMEN.

Bienvenue!- this means welcome in French. Today we are continuing with the series on Loyalty to God. In the last two weeks, we saw a few Biblical characters that exhibited loyalty in different circumstances. In this post, we will explore the importance of Loyalty. Probably someone is wondering and asking- why should I be loyal to God?. What good is there if I remain devoted to God? Join me friend as we unpack why it is important to be loyal to God. Let us dive right in!!

Memory Verse: Joel 2 v 25–26: And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed(KJV).

BENEFITS OF BEING LOYAL

We will be exploring the blessings that God has promised us when we are loyal to him.

  1. Restoration: The Bible records the story of Job who was once the richest man in the East but in a day he lost everything- his family, wealth, health, friends, and many more. Nevertheless, Job remained loyal and after a while of enduring the pain, God restored him in double portion. Job 42 v 10–17(I will include a few verses from here): v10After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. v12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand donkeys. v16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. 17 And so Job died, an old man and full of years. From the verses above, we can see that God restored Job and gave him a double portion of his wealth because Job remained loyal in the period of his fasting. God is a restorer and no matter the situation you are in( it could be financial lack, hunger, need for a job, marriage e.t.c), strive to remain loyal to God and he will restore you.
  2. Protection: Psalm 31:23: Love the LORD, all you godly ones! For the LORD protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant(NIV). When we remain loyal to God, we are sure that he will protect us because the Bible reveals to us in Isaiah 54 v 17: No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. Also, Proverbs 2:8: so that He may guard the paths of justice and protect the way of His loyal followers (HCSB).
  3. We will be delivered: 1 Corinthians 10 v 13: No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (NIV). This scripture reminds us of the delivering power of God even in temptations. A good example is that of the story of Joseph in Potiphar's house when tempted by Potiphar’s wife but he remained devoted to God. 2 Chronicles 16:9 — “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
  4. We will be blessed: Luke 16:11: So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? (NIV). This scripture is to remind us to be loyal to God with our finances because when we do so, we will be qualified for God's true blessings.
  5. We will have dominion: Revelation 2:2-To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, To them, I will give authority over all the nations(NLT). Loyalty involves being committed to the end and this scripture states that if we obey till the end we will have dominion and authority.
  6. God will delight in us: Hosea 6:6: For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings (NASB). Loyalty is one way to win God’s heart.
  7. The promise of eternal life: Revelation 2:10 — “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. If we are loyal to God till the end of our lives, we will have a place in heaven.

Dear friends, we have just explored a few benefits of loyalty to God. I hope that the words have ministered to us and we are challenged to be loyal to God at all times.

Thank you very much for reading. Have a blessed week.

God loves you best
