WHAT IS GOD SAYING ABOUT MY STAGE OF LIFE

Hello dear friends, I hope you are doing well. We thank God for being alive to see another week.

Before we go into today’s post, I want you to write on paper the stages of life you have passed through. I read this article which gives a summary of the life stage of a person. So we have Infancy (earliest part of childhood) -> Toddler (2–3years) -> Childhood(4–8years) -> Puberty(9–13years) -> Older adolescence (14–18) -> Adult (19years+). Retrieved from: https://2012books.lardbucket.org/books/an-introduction-to-nutrition/s16-01-the-human-life-cycle.html

The reason why I asked you to perform this is to appreciate the stage we have grown from, the stage we are in, and going to. Let us open to the book of 1 John 2 v 12–14, and see what John said about stages of life. I also loved the way Priscilla Shirer, in one of her messages, explained this verse, and I am going to share what God laid on my heart as well. 1 John 2 v 12–14 & 28:

12. I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name. 13. I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. 14. I write to you, dear children because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. V28: And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears, we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. (NIV) (Emphasis added)

We can see from the writings of John that he categorized the stages of man’s life into three CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE, FATHERS/PARENTS. The stage you are in matters a lot to God because, in the child stage, he tells us (our sins are forgiven), the young people are called victorious (because they have overcome the evil one). The spiritual father/mothers were described as people who knew God from the beginning, having passed through the earlier stages of being a child and a young person. Then John about to conclude the chapter in verse 28 calls us children. The reason why we are called children is that irrespective of the stage you are, you need to relate with God as your Father and continue in him. Think about when you were younger and how you depended on those older than you, even if they were not your parents. This is the same way God wants us to depend on him, also if you are in the stage of an adult, still relate with God as a child.

Another reason why God is interested in your stage of life is that he wants to use that stage for his purpose. God forgives the children so that they can enjoy his blessings when they grow and are faced with challenges; he tells them to be firm because they are overcomers, then as a parent, you are supposed to share your testimonies of God’s goodness in your walk with him. Never forget this, irrespective of your stage, God is saying that you continue in him because you are his child and he is your heavenly Father who cares for you.

God bless you for reading. I pray that you have a spirit-filled week, may the goodness of the lord and his mercies follow you and all yours AMEN.

Please share with many people and be blessed.

I love you, but God loves you the best.
